Objectives of the Innovation Day



The STA board cordially welcomes you to the 6th Innovation Day 2026. Startups, companies, and universities working on security-relevant technologies will gain easy access to the current challenges facing the army.


Proposed solutions should come from all areas, including those outside of defense technology. STA created the Innovation Day for this purpose.

Innovations for the army

The army presents its innovation needs in the fields


  • Sovereign Reference Time (simap ID # follows)
  • Underground infrastructures (simap-ID # follows)
  • Gateway for vehicles (simap-ID # follows)

The framework was announced at the Innovation Day and can be found in the corresponding simap.ch publications. Selected participants with their innovation proposals will be able to gather feedback and experience through trials with the troops.

STA's Innovation Day offers you:

Insights into current innovation projects from the army, procurement, science and business.

A competition where you can submit innovative solutions to current challenges facing the army.

The opportunity to network with high-tech companies and thus form valuable partnerships between innovators and integrators.

Networking Program

  • Face-to-face meetings and exhibition

    Innovators, integrators and other interested parties can network in advance via the STA Networking Platform (STANP) and arrange face-to-face meeting slots.


    All interested parties are requested to create a profile on the *STANP* platform and reserve face-to-face slots in advance of the event (from mid-July).


    The pre-arranged talks will take place in the barn on the Gurten as follows:


    11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

    2:15 PM – 3:30 PM

    Face-to-face meetings can be arranged via the STA platform up until the «CREATE THE FUTURE!» innovation day.

    Deadline for submitting project contributions on simap.ch

    Invitation of selected solution proposals to pitch to the end user
